| Hoffman BMX Bikes began in 1991, housed within theprivate training warehouse of founder/rider/BMX legend Mat Hoffman. At thetime, Mat's riding was progressing at a rate beyond what the available BMXtechnology could handle. He was going through bikes and parts by the dozens, and this frustration convinced him that the time was right to get behind thewheel and do it on his own. So, Mat set a plan in motion; bikes made "forthe riders, by the riders." With the help of the Hoffman BMX Bikes proteam (including Mark Owen, Steve Swope, and Mat himself), Hoffman Bikes beganmanufacturing and selling handmade frames out of a tiny warehouse in OklahomaCity. The first model, Mat's signature frame, 'The Condor,' was designedaccording to his specific needs, including the drive to achieve the WorldRecord for the Highest Air on a BMX bike. After hitting upwards of over 20 feeton a 21 foot ramp in 1992, Mat had accomplished one of his many worldly goals.Word spread quickly; the quality and strength of the Condor frame exceededanything available on the BMX market at the time, and Hoffman Bikes became animmediate success within the then tiny scope of the BMX world.Fast-forward afew years. The team had grown, the product range was burgeoning and Mat'sexploits upon his signature Hoffman Bikes Condor were quickly becomingWorld-Renowned. Hoffman Bikes continued to develop new technology and newproducts, growing as both a business and a community of a family of friends andriders that held true to Mat's original visions, dreams and 'all or nothing'drive. |
