Hoffman BMX Bikes began in 1991, housed within the private training warehouse of founder/rider/BMX legend Mat Hoffman. At the time, Mat's riding was progressing at a rate beyond what the available BMX technology could handle. He was going through bikes and parts by the dozens, and this frustration convinced him that the time was right to get behind the wheel and do it on his own. So, Mat set a plan in motion; bikes made "for the riders, by the riders." With the help of the Hoffman BMX Bikes pro team (including Mark Owen, Steve Swope, and Mat himself), Hoffman Bikes began manufacturing and selling handmade frames out of a tiny warehouse in Oklahoma City. The first model, Mat's signature frame, 'The Condor,' was designed according to his specific needs, including the drive to achieve the World Record for the Highest Air on a BMX bike. After hitting upwards of over 20 feet on a 21 foot ramp in 1992, Mat had accomplished one of his many worldly goals. Word spread quickly; the quality and strength of the Condor frame exceeded anything available on the BMX market at the time, and Hoffman Bikes became an immediate success within the then tiny scope of the BMX world.Fast-forward a few years. The team had grown, the product range was burgeoning and Mat's exploits upon his signature Hoffman Bikes Condor were quickly becoming World-Renowned. Hoffman Bikes continued to develop new technology and new products, growing as both a business and a community of a family of friends and riders that held true to Mat's original visions, dreams and ‘all or nothing’ drive.
